Tell us your story

It wasn’t always an easy road for me but I am a glass-half-full type of person! I believe that everything I have been through is a part of my story and wouldn’t change it for the world. My life has been less than ordinary but will try to give you a brief back story. I grew up living all over the West Coast in a middle-class and sometimes poor family. My parents instilled the entrepreneurial spirit in me early since my mom was a successful real estate agent, on top of my parents owning their painting & construction company. They both always said they hated reporting to a boss and I couldn’t agree more. On the weekends we had the flexibility of picking up our 35-foot motorhome and hitting the wide-open road. I have probably stayed at every campground from California up to Washington and remember playing with Barbies in the mud. They were adventurous but extremely hard working and loved to enjoy life with a beer in hand. Unfortunately, at 13 years old I heard the news that would forever change my life. My dad had lymphoid cancer that was progressing quickly. We had to move into a one-bedroom low-income apartment due to him losing his job, my mom was traveling 24/7 for work as a flight attendant and barely making enough to put a roof over our heads. I was alone to figure out how to navigate teen life. As you can imagine I did what every young teen did and spiraled down a path of drugs, skipping school and sneaking out of the house. I guess you could say it was my way of dealing with the pain! Thankfully, my dad became a two-time cancer survivor but at the young age of 62 died from early-onset Alzheimers. Fast forward to today, I am 31 years old and have been working on creating the life of my dreams since 15 years old. I have traveled to 16 counties and counting, lived abroad in Australia for over three years while pursuing a dream to create a life where I combine my passion for travel and people. In my dad’s last years of life, he always wanted me to tell him about my travel stories, so I have made it a mission to see as many places as possible. I am in the process of launching a company called FeMAVEN which is a platform for women to book curated modern girls getaways to celebrate life. A perfect combination of food + culture + friends + experiences + a shit ton of fun! My goal with FeMAVEN is to show women they can safely & confidently travel the world! Life is too short and we are never guaranteed tomorrow.

If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self?

I would tell my younger self to take even more chances and not be scared of failing. It's all bout the journey! I probably would also try to keep her out of so much trouble!

What does "living freely" mean to you?

"living freely" means living a life where women can do anything they set their mind to! It means being able to travel, work, date, and live as FEARLESS as men.

Where can we follow your work and support you?
