Hi there! So what's your name?

Heidi Eiser

Toowoomba

What do you do?

Graphic artist

Tell us your story

Let me take you back to Heidi circa 2016. I was working a corporate job, my health was suffering (I have Crohn's disease), and was engaged to be married. I found out my fiancee was cheating on me and in an instant my whole world crumbled. But a new one began. I started exploring more, went traveling, and did things for myself. I enrolled to study graphic design, quit my job, and moved to my hometown to start my own business. Fast forward to 2020, I create artwork to inspire women to live their best lives. To break down what they've always thought they should do with their lives and discover what it is they want, and to go for it. I am happier and healthier than ever. My ambition is to be a women's empowerment artist that inspires women to dream big.

If you could go back in time, what would you tell your younger self?

I don't think I would change anything. It's all led me to where I am today. But I do wish we could take the pressure off a young woman to live by societal standards. I never thought it would be possible to have a career as an artist because it was never shown to me as a possibility. I thought I had to get a solid job, get married, and have kids. I hope we can encourage young women to think about what is they want for themselves, instead of following what is expected of them.

What does "living freely" mean to you?

Well, my first art print collection is titled "Freely"! And it's all about letting go of expectations and following your heart. Feeling into your body and following what feels right for you, regardless of what others think.
